Did you realize that the Catholic Church inflates its census by counting everyone ever baptized? This deceptive bookkeeping practice adds to the already obscene wealth of the Church of Rome. Just consider all the government money it administers, based on figures it supplies.
If you want to stop being counted, act now. Write to the parish where you were baptized and state unequivocally that you "wish to leave the church by a formal act." This is a free choice that is simple and effective. Excommunication can only be imposed formally after a trial (unless you are a woman who has procured an abortion, in which case excommunication is automatic.)
